Zyra Workouts is in development and not yet on the App Store; screens may change before release.

Zyra Workouts has five set types, and each one changes what the row looks like, what the app counts, and — for drop and myo sets — how many rows one "set" occupies. This guide is about logging them; what the techniques are for is covered in set types explained.

What it does

The set number in the leftmost column is a button. Tapping it opens the set-type sheet, a radio list with one line of description each. The badge letter then replaces the set number in the table.

TypeBadgeSheet description (verbatim)Counts toward volumeCounts for Smart Progression
Standard(set number)Fixed weight, target rep rangeYesYes
Warm-UpWLighter prep set, excluded from volumeNoNo
DropDHeavy set, then reduce weight and continueYes (parent and sub-entries)Yes
MyoMSame weight, short intra-set restsYes (parent and sub-entries)Yes
FailureFTaken to technical failure (RIR 0)YesYes

"Counts for Smart Progression" means the set is part of the last working sets the engine reads when it prefills your next session (see the wand colours). Warm-ups are filtered out there, in the weekly volume on the dashboard, and in the Levels tab.

Step by step

Warm-ups. Tap the Warm Up chip in the action row. A W row is inserted at the top of the exercise, after any warm-ups already present, so the working sets keep their numbering below. Log it like any set. Once every warm-up of an exercise is ticked, the table folds them into a single line — "2 warm-ups · done" — with a chevron to expand. The warm-up set builder gives you the loads if you want a ramp to plan from.

Drop sets. Tap the set number → Drop → the sheet grows a button, Add drop entry. Each tap adds a sub-row under the parent, indented, carrying the parent's weight and side. Log the heavy parent, then tap the sub-row's weight and type the lighter load, log it, and repeat. The sub-rows are numbered internally as drop 1, drop 2 and so on.

Myo sets. Same flow with Myo and Add myo entry. Because myo-reps keep the weight constant, the copied weight is usually right and only the reps need typing per entry.

Failure sets. Choose Failure. The row shows F and its effort is set to RIR 0 — the reps keypad's chips are not needed. Turning a set back to Standard keeps the reps and weight.

Changing type after ticking. The sheet opens on ticked rows too. Switching a ticked row to Warm-Up clears its RIR and takes it out of volume; switching to Failure writes RIR 0.

In plain terms: the set number is the type button; W is free prep work, D and M are one set spread over several rows, F is RIR 0 by definition.

What the numbers mean

  • Volume on the session summary is weight × full reps over every non-warm-up row, including drop and myo sub-entries. A 100 kg × 8 parent with sub-entries of 80 × 6 and 60 × 8 contributes 800 + 480 + 480 = 1,760.
  • The "Set N of M" header counts rows, so a drop set with two sub-entries is three rows out of M.
  • PRs are evaluated per row, using each row's own weight and full reps.

Gotchas

  • An empty drop parent is downgraded. If you choose Drop or Myo but never tick a sub-entry, "Complete Workout" saves the parent as a Standard set. The sub-entries keep their type when they exist.
  • Warm-ups never start the rest timer — ticking one does nothing to the countdown, by design.
  • The W chip adds to the active exercise only. Each exercise gets its own warm-ups; there is no automatic warm-up scheme yet.
  • Set numbers skip badges. Rows with a badge show the letter instead of a number, so a table can read W, W, 3, 4 — the numbering is positional, not "working set number".
  • Failure sets and the RIR chips. You can still open the reps keypad and pick a chip on an F row; the last action wins. Keep F rows at 0R or change the type.

The short version

Tap the set number to pick Standard, Warm-Up, Drop, Myo or Failure; the badge W, D, M or F replaces the number. Warm-ups come from the Warm Up chip and are excluded from volume, progression and Levels. Drop and myo sets are a parent plus "Add … entry" sub-rows, all counted. Failure means RIR 0.
