Scale weight in MacroDiet is the raw number you log from the scale, one entry per day, and weigh-ins are the habit the app counts around it — how many days this week, your current streak, and a calendar of tracked days. The app's stated minimum is one weigh-in in every seven-day window. This guide covers how to log, what each screen shows, and how to weigh so the entries are comparable. MacroDiet is live at macrodiet.fit and evolving; screens change as features ship, and anything marked "coming" below is not in the app yet.

What it does

There are three places weight appears:

  • Scale Weight page (Dashboard → Body Metrics → Scale Weight): an Average and Difference for the loaded window, a chart of dots (one per entry) with a faint connecting line, the time-range pills, a seven-card tutorial, and a month history. The + button in the header opens the add sheet.
  • Weigh-In page (Dashboard → Habits → Weigh-In): today's weight if logged, a streak of consecutive weighed days ending today, a Monday-first month calendar with a marker on tracked days, a tracked / untracked legend, and a 365-day heatmap for the year.
  • Dashboard cards: the Weigh-In habit card shows N/7 this week with 30 dots for the last 30 days; the Scale Weight card shows your latest entry; the Weight Trend card shows the same latest value until smoothing ships (the weight-trend page).

Step by step

  1. Set your units once. More → Profile → Unit System (metric or imperial) → Save Changes.
  2. Open Scale Weight and tap +. The sheet shows today's date and two inputs, weight and body fat.
  3. Type the weight and tap Save. The button is disabled until the weight is a positive number. The entry is saved to today's nutrition log alongside any calories already logged for the day, so logging weight never wipes food and vice versa.
  4. Check the chart and history. The new dot appears at the right; the history lists the entry with its date.
  5. Watch the habit card fill. The dashboard counts the week's weigh-ins out of 7; the Weigh-In page shows your streak and calendar.

For usable data, weigh the same way each time. The tutorial's wording is a reasonable protocol: in the morning, after using the bathroom, before eating or drinking, in similar clothing. Consistency matters more than the exact routine, because the trend cares about change, not level.

What the numbers mean

NumberWhereHow it is computed
Latest weightdashboard cards, Weigh-In "today"the most recent entry in the last 30 days (Weigh-In looks back 90)
AverageScale Weight headermean of all entries in the loaded window
DifferenceScale Weight headerlast entry minus first entry in the window
N/7 this weekWeigh-In habit carddays from this Monday to today with a weight entry
StreakWeigh-In pageconsecutive days with an entry, counting back from today; breaks on the first empty day
Day-to-day changeWeight Trend historythis entry minus the previous entry

The once-a-week minimum comes from the expenditure design: the update engine (coming) needs at least one weigh-in per 7-day period alongside three days of food logs to move the estimate; otherwise it holds (expenditure and the 3-of-7 rule). More entries give the smoothing more to work with — a weekly single reading can land on a heavy or light morning and mislead by a kilogram.

In plain terms: one entry a week keeps the coming engine fed; one entry a day makes the trend trustworthy.

Gotchas

  • The body-fat field is shown but not saved in the current build. Enter it if you like; only the weight is stored today. Body-fat logging is coming.
  • There is no smart-scale integration yet. One tutorial card describes importing weights automatically; that integration is coming, and entries are manual for now.
  • Entries are today-only. The add sheet cannot back-date, so a missed morning stays a gap in the calendar.
  • A second save on the same day overwrites the first. Weigh once, at your usual time.
  • The streak is strict. It counts from today backwards and stops at the first day without an entry, so a single miss resets it to the days since.
  • Weight entries do not change targets yet. They are recorded and charted; adjustments from them belong to the coming check-in.

The short version

Log weight from the Scale Weight page's + button — today's date, one number, Save. The dashboard counts your weigh-ins out of 7, the Weigh-In page shows a streak and calendar, and the Scale Weight chart plots the entries. Weigh under the same conditions, aim for daily entries with one a week as the floor the app states, and remember that the body-fat field, smart-scale import and target adjustments are coming. Body-weight tracking here is a nutrition-planning aid. Educational overview only — not medical advice.
