Your first 30 days in MacroDiet are for one thing: logging food and body weight every day against the targets onboarding set, so that there is real data to correct the formula with. The app shows a four-step timeline right after sign-up; one step is fully live today and three are coming. Here is the honest version of that timeline and a week-by-week way to use it. MacroDiet is live at macrodiet.fit and evolving; screens change as features ship, and anything marked "coming" below is not in the app yet.

What it does

The First 30 Days page appears once, immediately after "Create Account", with four milestones on a vertical timeline and a Continue button to the dashboard:

  1. Log your meals and weight every day — "Zyra uses that data to analyze your metabolism and personalize your plan."
  2. On Day 3, Zyra will update your expenditure estimate.
  3. Next Monday, you will receive your first check-in — adjusting calorie targets like a coach.
  4. In 30 days, your plan will be fully aligned with your metabolism.

Milestone 1 is what you do, and every tool for it is live: the Food Log tab, the Scale Weight page and the two habit counters on the dashboard. Milestones 2–4 describe the adaptive engine — expenditure updates from logs, and weekly check-ins that move targets — which is coming. The Expenditure page shows the onboarding estimate with the strategy "Holding", and the Strategy tab in the bottom bar is a placeholder until the check-in ships (what the check-in will do).

Step by step

A four-week plan that makes the data worth having.

Week 1 — build the two habits. Log everything you eat in the Food Log (search and barcode), including drinks and cooking oil, in the hour slot you ate it. Weigh in every morning under the same conditions and log it on the Scale Weight page. Do not change the targets: a week is too short to judge them.

Week 2 — look at the two averages. On the Expenditure page, compare the seven bars against the orange estimate line. On the Weight Trend page, read the Estimated Caloric Deficit card (expenditure minus your 21-day average intake) and the direction of your entries. Expect scale noise of a kilogram either way; the direction over two weeks is the information.

Week 3 — decide whether the formula was close. If your weight direction matches the goal at roughly the rate you picked, the estimate was near. If not, the gap tells you the sign of the error: losing faster than planned means the expenditure was underestimated; not losing means it was overestimated or intake is under-logged.

Week 4 — adjust deliberately. In the current build, adjustments are manual: change your weight (and, if it changed, activity level) on the profile page, and use the calorie deficit calculator to see what the formula sets with the new inputs (changing your goal and targets). When the check-in ships it will propose this step for you.

What the numbers mean

Why the day counts are what they are: three days of food logs is the smallest set the app's rule accepts to average intake against (the 3-of-7 rule); a week gives one weigh-in cycle; and the tutorial's "20–30 days of consistent tracking" is where the design expects the estimate to settle.

In plain terms: the timeline is the roadmap for the engine, not a promise that fires on the calendar today. Your 30 days of logs are the fuel it will use — and they already tell you, by hand, whether the formula was close.

Gotchas

  • Nothing changes automatically on day 3 or Monday in the current build. The copy on the timeline page is ahead of the product; this guide is the honest reading of it.
  • Under-logging is the commonest way to make week-3 conclusions wrong. Forgotten oils, sauces and drinks add up to several hundred kcal.
  • Scale noise beats one week of data. Water and gut contents move the reading more than a week of a moderate deficit moves fat.
  • Targets are "average per day" by design. The calorie reveal calls it an average, not a strict daily limit; a day over and a day under net out.
  • The habit dots are 30 days, the counters are Monday-to-today. A "2/7" on a Tuesday is fine.

The short version

The First 30 Days page sets four milestones; log daily is live, the day-3 update, Monday check-in and day-30 alignment are coming. Spend the month building two habits — every meal in the Food Log, every morning on the scale — then read the expenditure bars and the weight direction yourself in weeks 2–3 and adjust deliberately in week 4. That is exactly the nutrition data the adaptive features will start from. Educational overview only — not medical advice.
